Hirakagetsu No Shiki

Due to preparations and practice for a Japanese festival, I haven’t had the opportunity to practice kagetsu for a while. So, after a break of two months, I revisited the practice of Hirakagetsu for review. There were parts we remembered and others we had completely forgotten. However, compared to the previous session, it seems that everyone was able to enjoy kagetsu.

Considering the term “Ikki (a man-to-man fight),” which refers to performing the Kagetsu once, it becomes clear that the role of each member is more about constantly concentrating on other movements, viewing it as a training to fulfill each role correctly, and conducting the ceremony with a continuous sense of tension rather than simply for enjoyment.
