11月４日に紅葉の美しい長野庵での今年最後の茶会を開きました。
お床は福島の清藍さんから拝領の『一期一会』の色紙、花は少し早くつぼみをつけた生徒さんのお庭の椿。
お菓子は生徒さんと一緒に作った猪子餅。シナモンの風味が、ここアメリカの人達に大好評でした。
お天気にも恵まれ、来られたお客様は皆さん、満ち足りたお顔で長野庵を後にされました.
On November 4th, we held the final tea gathering of the year at the beautiful Nagano-an, surrounded by autumn foliage. The scroll featured a piece of calligraphy that reads ‘Ichigo Ichie’ (一期一会), which I received as a gift from Seiran, a calligrapher friend from Fukushima. The flower was camellia from a student’s garden, still in bud. The confection served was ‘Ino-Ko Mochi,’ which we made together with the students. Its cinnamon flavor received high praise from our American guests.
We were blessed with fine weather, and all our guests left Nagano-an with contented smiles on their faces.
