日本祭打ち上げパーティ!

9月9日、日本祭での成功を祝って、打ち上げパーティを行いました。14名の参加でお互いの労をねぎらいました。気が早い人は、もう来年の企画を語っていました。

風炉流し点

  先生が着物の着付けを手伝って、今週は新人さんが着物で初めてのお稽古をしました。新しく入られた方達は盆手前を、他の生徒さんたちは風炉流し点をしました。 New students learned to wear kimono and joined our tea ceremony practice. They practiced “bondemae” and others practiced “Furo Nagashi-date”.  

懐石とお茶事イベント

私達がオークションに出品した「懐石と茶事」買ってくださった4名のお客さんを、去る日曜日、純心庵にお招きしました。10皿以上のお料理に舌鼓を打っていただいた後、和菓子は手作りの花びら餅。 濃茶点前、薄茶点前を茶室「純心庵」で披露しました。取り分け、かつて日本に住み日本の文化をこよなく愛した高齢のお父様は、目に涙を浮かべて感動してくださいました。

和菓子を作りました

1ヶ月早い炉開きですが、お稽古のために菊をイメージした練り切りの和菓子を作りました。  

一足早く炉開きをしました

今日から炉を置いて、薄茶炉点前のお稽古をしました。炉開きのお汁粉もいただきました。お菓子は手作りの菊の練り切りです。新人さんたちは張り切ってお着物を着て盆点前のお稽古です。

Japan House を見学に行きました (1)

University of Illinois at urbana-champaign のJAPAN HOUSE を見学に行きました。残念ながら時間が間に合わずお点前は見ることができませんでしたが、日本から来ていたという素晴らしい掛け軸を拝見することができました。禅宗の初祖達磨大師が弟子に伝えた禅語で、書は大徳寺大慈院住職戸田実山(この書では紫野実山)と書かれています。 一華開五葉 いっかごようをひらき 結果自然成 けっかじねんになる ikkagoyouwohiraki kekkajinenninaru” one  flower opens five petals( leaves).  Eventually it will naturally produce seeds.
