昨年申請していた３名の方の茶名・紋許と１名の上級の許状が４月中旬に京都の裏千家よりセントルイスの我が家に届きました。今まではニューヨークの裏千家より届いていましたので、直接届けらることにより、許状を早く受け取られた感じがします。
５月のお稽古の時に、４名の方にお渡ししましたが、それぞれ皆さん、喜びと共に身の引き締まる思いで許状を受け取られていました。益々、共に精進してまいりましょう。
In mid-April, we received at our home in St. Louis the tea names and crests (monkyo) for three individuals, as well as an advanced certificate (kyujo) for one person, which had been applied for last year. Until now, such items had arrived from Urasenke New York, so receiving them directly from Urasenke in Kyoto made it feel as though the certificates were delivered more promptly.
We handed the certificates to the four individuals during the May practice session. Each of them received their certificate with a mix of joy and a renewed sense of responsibility. Let us continue to strive together with even greater dedication.
