Restarting Okeiko at last!

From the third week of April, 2022, We started the tea ceremony practice again after my four months’ absence.I hung a scroll with the writing of four kanji letters representing “spring, country, trees, and color” written by my mother-in-law with an ink brush. The flower next to the scroll was the quince, the first flower blooming in my garden after planting the tree several years ago. We used the Kiyomizu Ware mizuhashi my teacher gave me in Kyoto this year, and the tea bowl we used was of one of my student’s red raku tea bowl with an accompanying box.

It was a pleasant surprise to see the improvement of many students since last experienced. I heartily appreciate the students who opened their homes and helped other students’ self-practice during my absence.
